Events Marketing: Are you using an effective strategy and platform?

Event strategies are tactics or plans in order to achieve the larger goal of an organisation when it comes to launching meeting and events. Events are not simply something businesses do in a whim.  It is a promotional tool that involves face-to-face contact between brands and their customers at events like conferences, trade shows, and seminars. Each event differs from each other, with a different audience, different content, and different culture. Hence, to succeed, your chosen event management company in Singapore must align your events to your company objectives.

According to a 2019 Aventri report, 95% of marketers agree that live events provide attendees with a real shot to be possible leads for an increasingly digital world. There is also 84% of consumers that said they have formed a more positive opinion about the company, brand, product or service being promoted after the event.

Corporate events in Singapore may differ from the rest of the world’s because of the country’s unique culture and traditions but event strategies that really deliver results are considered to be universal. Although, it is impossible to present a perfect event strategy that would cater to every business need for every event is different, every production schedule, budget, and target audience.  Fortunately, good event strategies can wad through these differences.

With that being said, here are the universal event strategies (broken down into four stages) and ideas to promote your event.

1. Pre-event marketing

Create an event page to capture the attention and interest of your audience. Once you have the event’s registration and landing page, you can sponsor and boost the post to drive people to join.

Do a social media announcement. After creating the page for the event, fill it up with social media posts about the event. Create an early momentum to promote the event, build a community, spark interaction and spread awareness.

Establish partnership. Event marketing partnerships are important for an event’s success. Start collaborating with complementary brands, vendors, sponsors, and media partners early before your event reaches the attention of many. This way, your event would have a more concrete foundation before it booms.

2. Event Launching

Release a launch email. Make use of your existing pool of leads, send out major email blast out to potential attendees and including those who pre-registered.

3. Daily Marketing Strategy

Post testimonials. In order to tap into the new audience’s emotions, you have to look back and check in with what you did with the previous ones. With testimonials and guests reviews, you will be creating an immediate pathos connection with your target audience. People relate to people.

Announce speakers, spark interest and intrigue people by announcing who will be speaking or performing at your event. This is one way to let them know what is in store for them. Also, do not forget to put all the credentials of your speakers in your posts to inspire your attendees.

4. “Last call” Marketing

Final blast. Not just an email blast but across all of your channels. Blogs post, social media updates, and emails should be disseminated in a more urgent, sales-focused, limited offer tone. This is the time to create customer demand.

Referrals. Connect and reach for more attendees with one of the most powerful marketing tactics, the word of mouth. Let your attendees promote the event on your behalf by giving them a personal gain. Word of mouth but make it about sales.

Follow through these universal strategies from day 1 to the day you launch your event, and you’d definitely gain outstanding result and a groundbreaking ceremony in Singapore.
