Singapore Aero Engine Services Pte Ltd (SAESL), a joint venture between SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC), Rolls-Royce and Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd (HAESL), officially opened a US$150 million state-of-the-art expansion and new engine test facility in Singapore on 17 February 2016. The Guest-of-Honour for the event was Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry (Trade).

Held in a large indoor space, we were given a challenge to turn the area around, from what was supposed to be a workshop into an event space.

We developed a concept where we divided the usable area into two, separated by a long piece of white fabric. On one side was the ceremony area whilst the other side was where the engines were housed, as well as where the signing of the plaque by minister took place.

The key highlight of the launch was the curtain drop where SAESL employees performed a flash mob to the delight of all guests present. Other highlights included a lion dance performance as well as a specially customised launch mechanism set in front of a full LED wall as the backdrop.
